D
PROJECT
"Find
Your Sun"
It
was in 2006 that the singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Stéphane
Desbiens and author Francis Roy founded D Project. The first album "Shimmering
Lights" evoked a mix of different music styles; progressive rock, classical,
metal including jazz. Many shows were presented especially with The Flowers
King and Arena. Later, in 2008, was the release of the album "Sagarmatha
Dilemma", for which the music was inspired by Mount Everest images and
its conquest by the climber Maxime Jean. The documentary "Everest" featured
music from D Project. This collaboration has led Stéphane and his
partners, Mathieu Gosselin (bass) and Jean Gosselin (drums) to perform
at Salle Albert-Rousseau of Quebec and in Europe in 2009. D Project always
surrounded themselves with prestigious musician and artists such as Tony
Levin, Martin Orford, Derek Sherinian and Tomas Bodin. |

Deep Time (2010) and Wassail (2015). Big Big Train has been through a number
of line-up changes over the years. The current line-up began to take shape
in 2009, but there were earlier incarnations of the band as far back as

"Za
Witrazem"
Anamor
comes from Poland, formed in 1995 and composed of six musicians and having
as vocalist Marta Glowacka. During this initial period the band had some
changes in the line-up, and recorded some singles, but it was in 2003 they
recorded their debut album called "Imaginacje", an musical work well accepted
by the local and world-wide critics. Now Anamor, after 15 years of silence,
returns with a second album titled as "Za Witrazem", with vocalist Marta
Glowacka, still in the line-up six veteran musicians from the Progressive
Rock from Poland. |
GAN
EDEN - IL GIARDINO DELLE DELIZIE
"Goodbye"
Gan
Eden - Il Giardino delle Delizie is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist
Angelo Santo Lombardi, who in this album sings and plays a wide variety
of keyboards, acoustic guitar and percussions. Gan Eden debuted in 2007
with the now-deleted "Lavori in corso", an album influenced by Banco del
Mutuo Soccorso, PFM, Orme and Keith Emerson's playing style, which immediately
caught the attention of Italian progressive rock listeners and many other
music lovers. In 2009 Gan Eden released the even more inspired and mature
"Ritratto di ballerina", a record that was only followed today, almost
ten years later, by this "Goodbye", a multifaceted 19-track album with
a preeminent side made of classical-symphonic music and keyboard improvisations;
however, the real prog-rock element hasn't been forgotten on tracks such
as "Tripudio", "Romantik Metal" and "Frammenti Perduti". The album also
features tributes to the classical composer Johann Sebastian Bach and to
Lucio Battisti, the latter honored with "Il mio canto libero". |
MICHAEL-ALAN
TAYLOR
"Avalonia
(The Sonnets of Guinevere)"
Michael-Alan
Taylor is the vocalist from Nth Ascension we have so far release 3 albums
and a fourt is in the works. This is Michael - Alan Taylor's first solo
effort Avalonia (The Sonnets of Guinevere) releasing on Melodic Revolution
Records summer 2018. It is a soundscape of cinematic vision reaching through
the ages. Michael-Alan was born into a musical family; both his Mother
and Grandmother having sung in clubs of the time and his Grandfather played
drums. So it was no surprise to his family and friends when he began singing
as a small child to his friends the popular songs of the day. He started
playing guitar around the time he left school and was initially self-taught
sharing his brother?s classical guitar. Many of the first tunes he learned
were from his brother who was taking classical guitar lessons. |
XAVIER
BOSCHER
"Embryogenesis"
Xavier
Boscher is a french Rock Prog Metal guitarist who has released many albums
since 1999. For himself and other projects (Nebuleyes, Misanthrope, Continuum

CANTURBE

With
the same enthusiasm as in his land, Jorge Garacotche gives us a wonderful
album full of songs of Symphonic Progressive Rock, with deeply rooted roots
of Buenos Aires, Argentina. His lyrics reflect the current situation in
his country and his sound travels from the past to the present. An amazing
album, and you must listen it. |
GALASPHERE
347
"Galasphere
347"
Symphonic
Rockers Galasphere 347, whose self-titled debut full-length album is due
to hit the streets on Karisma Records on the 20th July, have today released
a video from the album. Formed in 2018 Galasphere 347 is an Anglo-Scandinavian

Its lineup of Stephen James Bennett on vocals, keyboards and guitars, Ketil
Vestrum Einarsen on keyboards, programming and flute, Jacob Holm-Lupo on
guitar and bass, and Mattias Olsson on drums, keyboards and guitars, incorporates
the technical spectacle of progressive rock, with the distorted insistence
of Krautrock, via the intimacy of the singer-songwriter?s oeuvre. |
PROPORTIONS
"Reboot"
Proportions
comes from Washington, D.C. - EUA, an internet-based band playing original
progressive music. The four members of the band have been involved in various
Projects for several years, and the idea of making a whole album together
became natural after making a few tracks together. The idea is that any
member of the band sends a rough demo to the others, and leave them free
to add whatever they want. The basic structure has an originator, but the
end result is a work between the four members. Proportions is about the
joy of collaboration, bringing an idea to new levels. |
JORDSJØ
"Jordsjø"
Jordsjø
is a prog band from Oslo, Norway inspired by old horror movies, German
70s synth music, Swedish prog, fantasy novels and Norwegian nature. They
released three cassettes before releasing their first "proper" album "Jord"
in March this year. This 2CD release is a collection of all the songs from
these three earlier cassette releases: "Jordsjø", "Jordsjø
II" and the split release with Breidablik, "Songs from the Northern Wasteland". |
JOHN
HOLDEN
"Capture
Light"
John
Holden is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from Cheshire, England.
Having played and composed for many years, John made the decision to commit
to creating a full album of original material. What that meant in real
terms was a succession of learning curves; musically, technically and artistically.
Once all the songs were in demo form John decided that involving additional
musicians would significantly enhance the music. Two years later the album
was completed. |
LUIZ
ZAMITH & BAND
"Introspecção"
Luiz
Zamith - Guitar, Ronaldo Rodrigues (Arcpelago and Caravela Escarlate) -
keyboards, Elcio Cáfaro - drums, Paulo Teles - flute and Augusto
Mattoso - bass, icluding a special guest Mose Sant'anna vocals on the "Trem
De Cão". This album is the result of Luiz Zamth's musical maturation
as a composer, guitarrist and arranger. The creation of this album was
only possible due to the performance the musician of this band who contributed
in the arrangements and stamped their musical identity in the interpretation
of each one of the compositions. |
HABELARD2
"The
Black Swan"
Sergio
Caleca and his project Habelard2, He is acomposer, also plays keyboard,
guitar and bass. After short experiences with various progressive-rock
groups, he started a solo research activity, moving on electronic, new-age,
rock, folk & other contaminations. At this time is keyboardist with

Aguillar is a musician, composer and producer, currently living in São
Paulo, Brazil, he releases his fourth solo album, the second of a trilogy

with small waterfalls and mystical places. "Floresta" Second Part contains
six tracks, the compositions are based on facts that involve a mysticism
of this place full of stories. Floresta and all his albums solos ware recorded

LAVIÀNTICA
"The
Experience"
Laviàntica
is a band from Rome, Italy, in action since the early 90s. In 2013 the
first official CD, "Clessidra", was released. In 2016 a new entry, Daniele
Sorrenti, joined the band for flute and minimoog parts, while in 2017 Roberto
Rossi completed the current line-up, replacing Andrea Schiappelli on drums.
The group was founded in the late '80s in Rome under the name of Alterego,
thanks to the meeting of two young music bands members. On one hand, Marco
Palma (guitars) and Paolo Perilli (bass and vocals) on the other Luciano
Stendardi (piano) and Paolo Musolino (keyboards, acoustic guitars and vocals):
the first two with a wealth of classic rock (Deep Purple, The Beatles,
Pink Floyd, David Bowie) and the others close to the New Age and electronic
mixed with hints of jazz fusion (Andreas Vollenweider, Pat Metheny, Brand-x,
Vangelis). |
PINNACLE
"To
Whoever You Are Now"
Although
Pinnacle have concentrated on writing material for CDs, they have performed
to enthusiastic crowds at NEARfest After Party ("Apocalypse" 2012, Bethlehem,
PA), ProgDay (Chapel Hill, NC), the Sterling Hotel (Allentown), Our Beer
Belly's (Bethlehem), Brenda & Jerry's (Bath), and ProgOctoberfest (Saratoga,
NY). They backed Nick D'Virgilio (Tears for Fears, Spock's Beard, Mike
Keneally Band) at a solo concert, opened for the legendary Spock's Beard
(The Forum Theater, NJ), and opened for Riverside (Crossroads Theater,
NJ). Together, the four create a musical blend that, regardless of whether
there is ever any money or world-wide fame to be had, is the sum of what
they love about music. |
THE
SEA WITHIN
"The
Sea Within"
Let?s
get one thing straight from the start. The Sea Within is more of an amalgamation
of some serious talents, than a regular "supergroup". These musicians have
come together to create a unique album. Guitarist/vocalist Roine Stolt,
bassist Jonas Reingold, keyboard player/vocalist Tom Brislin, drummer/vocalist
Marco Minnemann and vocalist/guitarist Daniel Gildenlöw have a vast
reservoir of experience. Look at the portmanteau of artists with who they've
worked: The Flower Kings, Transatlantic, Jon Anderson, Steven Wilson, The
Aristocrats, Joe Satriani, Yes, Steve Hackett, Renaissance, Pain Of Salvation,
Deborah Harry, Meatloaf, Karmakanic ? that of itself tells you this is
something very special. |
IO
EARTH
"Solitude"
The
brainchild of long time friends and writing duo Dave Cureton and Adam Gough,
IO Earth came into being as a challenge they gave themselves to write an
album of music that was truly unique. That album exploded onto the progressive
rock scene in 2009 and was instantly branded one of the most important
releases of the decade. At Cruise To The Edge 2014, they debuted three
songs from the upcoming release. The title track, "New World", a startlingly
unique and energetic rock tune, "Journey To Discovery" and a powerful guitar
ballad called "The Rising". All three tune were received with excitement
and enthusiasm by the crowds and if they are anything to go by, "New World"
will be breaking New Ground once again for this genre defying duo and their
cohorts. |
SOFT
MACHINE
"Hidden
Details"

collectible vinyl edition of only 200 coloured vinyl (orange, blue and

AARON
ENGLISH
"Songs
From Somewhere Else"
Aaron
English's new album "Songs From Somewhere Else", written & recorded
during Aaron's concert tours & charity work in Europe, Africa, &
the U.S. Featuring collaborations with artists from Kenya, Romania, Turkey,
The Netherlands & more, the album is a journey unto itself. It includes
brand-new songs such as "Born Under the Same Sun", "Shadow of a Doubt"
& "Wild at Heart", as well as songs showcased in Aaron's concert tours
& YouTube videos such as "Wingless Bird" & "Kothbiro". The band's
distinctive sound is ambitious, world-beat- influenced art rock a la Peter
Gabriel and Led Zeppelin, driven by Aaron English's vivid lyrics, acrobatic
voice, and deft piano work. |
LIGHT
FREEDOM REVIVAL
"Truthonomy"
John
Vehadija has reunited with his cast of high class musicians for "Truthonomy",
the new album by Light Freedom Revival, which is released on July 3rd,
2018. Along the bright sounds of Jamie Glaser's acoustic guitar, and Vehadija's
ethereal vocals, Billy Sherwood returns for the rhythm section (Drums and
Bass), as well as Oliver Wakeman (piano and keyboards) and Marisa Frantz
(Harmony Vocals). Eric Gillette also joins in the project by providing
additional electric guitar as well as mixing and mastering. This talented
team was called up by Vehadija once again to help him express his ideas
in the form of a new concept album that offers new insights in his own
spiritual journey and the science of Truthonomy. |
UNKH
"Innerverse"
How
does a mashup of contemporary alternative rock and seventies progressive
music sound like? Take the sound of keys of 70's symfo rock, rocking guitars
flavored with weird effects, drum loops and samples, give it a solid Rickenbacker
base, spice it up with just enough Dutch impertinence and mix it up in
a 21st century refined production process. The answer is: Unkh. Unkh consists
of four Dutch seasoned musicians who have put this idea into "Traveller".
They have already performed this album live at multiple venues in front
of bewildered audiences. Think melodic vocals, raw guitars, analog synths,
thundering basslines and solid beats. Think Unkh! |
THE
PARADOX TWIN
"The
Importance Of Mr Bedlam"
Originating
in Berkshire and fronted by main songwriter Danny Sorrell, "The Paradox
Twin" are a progressive rock quartet who are set to make 2018 their own
with their debut album "The Importance of Mr Bedlam" which is set for a
June 29th release date. Talking about the concept of the 7 song opus that
has tracks ranging anywhere from 6-10 minutes long, Danny explains that
he is "influenced and inspired by conspiracy theories and the idea that
humans on Earth are being controlled by extra-terrestrial beings." The
lyrical content of the album can be linked to various alien conspiracy
theories and different ideas on the topics of otherworldly seers are gradually
unveiled throughout this fine piece of progressive work, that also features
some special guests. |
CARL
PALMER
"ELP
Legacy 2018 Live"
Carl
Frederick Kendall Palmer was born in Birmingham, England, on March 20th,
1950. From the beginning it was clear that music was in the stars for the
young Carl Palmer. Carl Palmer is a drummer's drummer. A consummate professional,
a brilliant technician and a dynamic showman, he has thrilled listeners
and audiences alike for nearly four decades with some of music's most memorable
bands including Atomic Rooster, The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, Asia and
Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Along the way his dazzling speed and mastery
of the drums, combined with his infectious stage personality, have secured
for him a respected place in history as one of Rock and Roll's greatest
drummers. |
DAVID
CROSS
"Crossing
The Tracks"
David
Cross (born 23 April 1949 in Turnchapel near Plymouth, England) is an English
electric violinist, best known for playing with progressive rock band King
Crimson during the 1970s, (particularly on Larks' Tongues in Aspic and
Starless and Bible Black). He also plays keyboards. Since the mid-1980s,
he has also led his own band, the earlier incarnations of which featured
American drummer Dan Maurer, English keyboard player Sheila Maloney and
the Liverpool bassist/vocalist John Dillon. A 2018 collection of studio
recordings from former King Crimson violinist David Cross presenting a
diverse array of styles and moods. Including instrumental and vocal tracks,
guest singers include Sonja Kraushofer, Anne-Marie Hurst, Ofra Haza, and
Eva O. |
UNA
STAGIONE ALL'INFERNO
"Il
Mostro di Firenze"
Una
Stagione All'inferno is an Italian rock band that was born in 1997, from
the collaboration between Fabio Nicolazzo (from the Genoese Gothic Rock
scene) and Laura Menighetti (Di Estrazione Classica) Diego Banchero (Il
Segno del Comando), Carlo Opisso and Francesco Scariti. The band released
a song entitled "La ballata di Carini", which will be included in the compilation
"E tu vivrai nel terrore...", in 1998, published by the Genoese label Black
Widow Records. In 2011 Fabio Nicolazzo and Laura Menighetti decide to take
back the project, and so the ambitious idea of creating a concept album
titled as "Il Mostro di Firenze". The album "Il Mostro di Firenze" is an
obscure sound experience, a gloomy three-dimensional journey that will
take you into the delirious world of one of the most brutal crimes of Italian
news. A dark and symphonic work. A dialogue with the most occult and secret
parts of our soul. A mystery still unsolved... |
IL
BACIO DELLA MEDUSA
"Seme"
Contrary
to what often happens in the vast progressive rock panorama, crowded by
many prolific artists, Il Bacio della Medusa has always taken their right
time to release a new album: this time six years have in fact passed from
the previous "Deus Lo Vult". Nothing to complain, however, when the wait
is rewarded by the high quality of the result. "Seme" is no exception in
this sense and, if the wind instrumensts played by Eva Morelli and Simone
Cecchini's voice represent elements of continuity with the past, everything
else has been completely revolutionized. We are in fact facing the band's
most immediate and at the same time more varied record, a blend of hard,
folk, jazz and classic rock, typical songwriter's moments and even country
and electronic music! If it's true that "prog" means also evolution and
mixing between musical genres, we are therefore in the presence of a daring
album that, even if considerably deviating from the "classic prog" coordinates,
paradoxically represent the most progressive and original release in the
entire career of the group!! |
MAESTRICK
"Espresso
Della Vita: Solare"
Maestrick
was formed in the city of São José do Rio Preto, São
Paulo state, in 2006. Since the very first beginning their goal, musically,
was to mix prog rock and heavy metal. Their influences at the time were
bands likes Queen, Rush, Yes, Jethro Tull, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Pantera,
among others. Parallel to the music concept, they were very influenced
by other artistic movements like surrealism (specially by Tim Burton's
work) and other artistic languages such as cinema, painting, literature,
dance and performing arts. "Espresso Della Vita: Solare" will be a work
that runs away from the conventional, so it ends up being naturally daring
and complex. In the song "Hijos de La Tierra" " - focused on the cultivation
of love for nature and respect for the Americas - there are participations
of seven musicians from four different countries of North and South America
- among them that of the singer Cinthia Santibañes do Crisalida.
For the recordings of corals and orchestrations that appear throughout
the album, there are more than 20 musicians involved! |
HOLLOWSCENE
"Hollowscene"
Hollowscene
is a progressive band from Italy. Its style can be classified as "symphonic
prog" and shows influences by bands such as Genesis and Pink Floyd. Hollowscene
music draws inspiration from American and British poets of the last centuries,
building evocative soundscapes centered around famous and not-so-famous
literary texts, breathing life into these words through its highly evocative
sound... |
FINCH
"Finch"
Alexander
"Finch" Harper is a 21-year-old classically and contemporarily trained
guitarist from Victoria B.C. He has studied contemporary music and technology
at Selkirk College and graduated in 2017 as a Composition major. He decided
to not only name his first album "Finch", but also the band because Finch
is an old family name, going back many generations. Finch is the debut
album from the band Finch, a group created by Alexander "Finch" Harper
for the recording and performance of the album. "Finch" was written over
5 months while Alex studied Contemporary Music Composition at Selkirk College
and was produced and mastered at Alex's home studio. |
MARCHESI
SCAMORZA
"Gemini"
"Our
new album Gemini tells the story of a man who struggles with his many personalities.
The schizophrenia of the man is a whirling and moody journey in his inner
world, he is overwhelmed by the times he lives in and takes refuge in the
memories of his past, he is unable to understand his real nature and tries
to cross the mirror that reflects his demons. Themes as the double and
the mirror have been explored by Wilde, Poe, Carroll, we're feeling this
influence with some D'Annunzio echoes ". Gemini is the third album of Marchesi
Scamorza, and it is aconcept album. Since the times of King Crimson, every
prog band has tested the experience of a concept but the narration of Gemini
takes different paths, to get into the dark and mysterious dynamics of
the human mind, a journey into the inner world of the man, with the progressive
rock of the young band. |
TRAMA
"Oscure
Movenze"
Lorenzo
and Paolo, respective guitar and drums players, founded Trama in 1995. The
other arrives are Annalisa, at the voice, Luca at the keyboards and Gabriele
at the bass. Their idea is to do a kind of music that mixing both together
simple melodies and more difficult arrangiaments, using not banal lyrics.
So their kind of music drew its inspiration from Marillion, Yes, Genesis
and some italian progressive bands like PFM, Locanda delle Fate and Banco
del Mutuo Soccorso. The last is Davide Bruzzone, their manager and writer
of the lyrics of the songs. So rock progressive melodious become their style.
The first event in Trama's career was the partecipation at the rock festival
"Oltre il juke-box" in Genova-Pegli, with other famous bands, in which
they obtained good consideration. So they continued their performances
in all the rock pub of the city. They appeared also in local radio and
tv proposing much more brains of their composition. Their first album was
release in 1999 called "Profumo di colla bianca". |
PROJECT:
PATCHWORK
"Re|Flection"
As
the name puts out, Project: Patchwork is not a classic band with a fixed
line-up. Basically there are only two persons, Peter Koll (the body) and
Gerd Albers (the brain), who formed Project: Patchwork. Furthermore there
are many musicians and other involved persons, who came in for each production,
so the project's face is constantly changing. The most important personalities
of the first two albums ? beside the musicians ? should be named and honored
musicians. Re|Flection deals with personal experiences I've made in my
life on the one hand, but on the other hand also with relevant topics in
our today's society. A personal reflection, without pointing a critical
finger or an absolute claim to truth. Musically, Re|Flection is a mixture
of progressive and classic rock elements, paired with some folky and often
acoustically parts. |
ARMONITE
"And
the Stars Above "
Italy
- Armonite, the instrumental rock collective led by composer Paolo Fosso
and violinist Jacopo Bigi, have released their second album And the Stars
Above on LA-based indie label Cleopatra Records. As with the previous album,
And the Stars Above is an instrumental mix of electric violin, keyboards,
bass, and drums with focus on the amazing and powerful electric violin,
performed by Jacopo Bigi. Interpreting the music composed by keyboardist
Paolo Fosso, Armonite also performs with bassists Colin Edwin (Porcupine
Tree) and Alberto Fiorani, along with drummers Corrado Bertonazzi, Emiliano
Cava, and Jasper Barendregt. |
DESERT
WIZARDS
"Beyond
The Gates Of The Cosmic Kingdom"
Desert
Wizards begin playing in March 2007 when four friends strongly moved by
70? hard rock and psychedelic music, decide to set up a band... After several
months of exhausting sessions, they decided that the time was right to
record a demo. The recording ended in January 2008. The demo contains 5
tracks of pure heavy psychedelic hard rock. Black Widow records released
selftittled debut album in 2011. Italian four-piece Desert Wizards are
gearing up to release their third full-length, Beyond the Gates of the
Cosmic Kingdom, this July through long-running nuance-purveyors Black Widow
Records, and while the band's name and album title might both lead one
to expect a heavy psychedelic or stoner rock vibe, the graceful keyboard
work, slow progressive drift and purposeful clarity of production in "The
Man Who Rode Time" would seem to argue otherwise. |
